Amazon Introduces Business Hour Delivery Rate for FBM Sellers

Amazon is introducing a new Business Hour Delivery Rate (BHDR) metric for Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) sellers shipping to Amazon Business customers in the U.S. Starting September 30, 2026, sellers must maintain a 90% Business Hour Delivery Rate over a rolling 14-day period to remain eligible for Amazon Business orders.

What's Changing?

The new BHDR measures the percentage of seller-fulfilled orders delivered during a business customer's operating hours.

To remain compliant, FBM sellers must:

  • Maintain a 90% or higher Business Hour Delivery Rate.
  • Monitor delivery performance through Account Health.
  • Use reliable shipping methods that meet business delivery schedules.

What Happens If You Fall Below 90%?

If your BHDR falls below the required threshold:

  • Amazon will notify you on September 30, 2026.
  • You'll have until October 30, 2026 to improve your performance.
  • If your rate doesn't recover, your FBM offers for Amazon Business customers may be deactivated. FBA listings remain unaffected.

How Sellers Can Improve

Amazon recommends several best practices to maintain compliance:

  • Enable Automated Handling Time (AHT).
  • Use Amazon Buy Shipping.
  • Turn on Shipping Settings Automation.
  • Work with reliable carriers that deliver during business hours.
  • Regularly review your Account Health metrics.

Why This Matters

Business customers rely on deliveries arriving during working hours to reduce missed deliveries and improve operational efficiency. This update reinforces Amazon's commitment to more reliable fulfillment while encouraging sellers to improve delivery accuracy and customer satisfaction.

The new Business Hour Delivery Rate is another important performance metric for Amazon FBM sellers. Businesses that optimize shipping operations and monitor delivery performance will be better positioned to maintain eligibility for Amazon Business orders.
